UPDATE: September 2000

  • CRIMSON SKIES GOES GOLD, TRIAL VERSION NEARING RELEASE
Redmond, WA / September 21, 2000 / VirtualAviation.Com / -- As the clock ticks onward, Microsoft programmers have announced to the public this afternoon that the highly anticipated software has entered its Gold version, meaning that it will hit store shelves in a matter of days. As the word spreads about what some have called a revolutionary step in the simulations genre, Microsoft is slowly releasing more details concerning the software.

Crimson Skies is an alternate-reality depiction as to what would happen if the Great Depression continued, causing the United States to break up into independent warring nations, also destroying the railroad and interstate systems, making the only way to travel the air, where various groups fight for control. You can find out more by traveling to http://www.microsoft.com/games or looking at our preview which can be found here: Crimson Skies Preview.

  • COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR II WEBSITE RELEASED BY MICROSOFT
Redmond, WA / September 5, 2000 / VirtualAviation.Com / -- Anxious flight simulation fans were given a taste of the upcoming sequel to Microsoft's popular combat simulation this evening when the corporation announced the release of the official Combat Flight Simulator II website, which can be found by traveling to http://www.microsoft.com/games.

Combat Flight Simulator II: WWII Pacific Theater is currently being BETA tested by a select group of testers around the globe, including the staff here at VirtualAviation.Com. Catch our preview and overview of new features in our Combat Flight Simulator 2 Preview.

  • VIRTUALAVIATION.COM DELAYS OPENING UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1st
Chicago, IL / July 24, 2000/ VirtualAviation.Com / -- In a move that came as no shock to industry veterans, VirtualAviation.Com has once again delayed its opening. President Stephen Ryan told reporters that the online magazine has set its new opening date for September 1, 2000.

"It does not give me joy or pleasure to do this, but I will not rush my staff and I cannot prepare for an opening merely 8 days away without materials to review on our site," remarked Ryan.  "Seeing as how I have many people who all have to work together to make this site a success, we need time to make it work correctly. The new opening date will allow us the time to do a complete job."

Ryan hopes that the fans of virtual aviation will be patient, as the wait, according to magazine staffers, will be well worth it.

  • VIRTUALAVIATION.COM TO OPEN AUGUST 1st
Chicago, IL / July 1, 2000 / VirtualAviation.Com / -- In a press release earlier today, newly appointed President Stephen Ryan announced that after nearly 10 months of delays and missed deadlines, the long-awaited VirtualAviation.Com will open to the public on August 1st.

"I was given the go-ahead to begin preparations for opening just a week ago by [PlanetAviation.Com CEO Jonathon Witherspoon]," remarked Ryan. "I cannot guarantee a set opening date as my predecessors could not, because I will take as much time as I need to do my job to the best of my abilities. The end result will be worth it - I guarantee it."

The new dot com will open as an online magazine, featuring reviews, previews, and news on the latest in virtual aviation software. Despite intense and visible competition, officials are confident that the new site will be able to hold its own among an industry that is notorious for a large volumes of early openings and failures.

"I have excellent support from Jonathon at PlanetAviation and Erick Ortiz at VirtualAirlines.Com, as well as my own hand-picked staff of employees. Despite the attempts of the WVAA to compete with us by opening their own magazine, an opening date does not make or break a site. Content does, and that is where VirtualAviation.Com will prevail. Accept no substitutes," Ryan was quoted as saying.  Ryan promised more details regarding the website as soon as they are finalized for dissemination by the public.

For more information, people are encouraged to contact Mr. Ryan by e-mailing stephen@virtualaviation.com.
