Flight
Simulator 2000 Professional Edition (Microsoft)
- An impressive
addition to the Flight Simulator family of software,
Microsoft has produced what I think is one of their best
pieces of software ever, were it not for the $74.99
price tag. Heck, were
it not for that price tag, I might have bought this
piece of software with my own money instead of having to
wait for my most benevolent boss Jonathon Witherspoon to
ship it to me...

F/A-18
(Jane's
Combat Simulations) - If you’ve
read any of my other reviews, I’m guessing that you
see me as some sort of old, stubborn man who hates
everything, including flight sims. It may surprise you
to know that I am nothing of the sort…wait, wait, I am
stubborn…and a man…well, my point is, I loved
F/A-18...

F-15
(Jane's
Combat Simulations) - Boy, have I got mixed feelings
about this game. After installing it and uninstalling it
once, the game apparently decided to stop working. The
CD’s auto-run program no longer allowed an
installation of the game, and no other options worked
(Play, Uninstall), except for the help option (which was
ironically no help at all), and the exit option...

USAF
(Jane's
Combat Simulations) - "Wow,
I suck." These are the words that echoed through my
mind as my F-16C spun uncontrollably into a hillside.
While playing the game, I felt that one point needed to
be expressed above all else. Use a joystick! Without
one, a simple tap of the "Left" button would
sent you into an uncontrollable barrel roll...

Falcon
4.0 (Microprose) - Hello fellow flight sim extremists! I say that
because if you're not an extremist, you won't get that
far off the ground in this sim. The manual for
this sim is immense, over 400 pages explaining
everything from SAM evasion tactics to how to shut up
the bitchin' betty. Of course, it's a good idea to
read the entire manual before starting the game...

Fly!
(Terminal
Reality Interactive) - Fly! Is advertised as a
realistic simulation of true aviation. If that is the
case, than I must say God have mercy on your souls
should I ever fly a real airplane. My first sign of
trouble was the lack of any real tutorial. Rather, the
developers thought it more appropriate to simply put you
directly into the first scenario, in which it took me
precisely 4.8 seconds to crash...
